The booty that remained from the spoil the men of war had plundered was six hundred and seventy-five thousand sheep, and seventy-two thousand cattle, and sixty-one thousand donkeys, and of human beings, of the women who had not known man intimately, all the persons were thirty-two thousand. The half, the portion of those who went out to war, was as follows: the number of sheep was three hundred thirty-seven thousand five hundred. Jehovah's levy of the sheep was six hundred and seventy-five. There were thirty-six thousand cattle, from which Jehovah's levy was seventy-two. There were thirty thousand five hundred donkeys, from which Jehovah's levy was sixty-one. There were sixteen thousand human beings, from whom Jehovah's levy was thirty-two persons. Moses gave the levy that was Jehovah's offering to Eleazar the priest, just as Jehovah had commanded Moses. And from the Israelites half, which Moses separated from the men who had gone to war. When any food produced there is eaten, some of it is to be set aside as a special contribution to Jehovah. When you bake bread, the first loaf of the first bread made from the new grain is to be presented as a special contribution to Jehovah. This is to be presented in the same way as the special contribution you make from the grain you thresh. For all time to come, this special gift is to be given to Jehovah from the bread you bake.

If you cannot afford a sheep, you must bring two turtledoves or two pigeons to Jehovah as a guilt offering for the sin you committed. One will be an offering for sin. The other will be a burnt offering. Bring them to the priest. He will sacrifice the offering for sin first. He will break the bird's neck without pulling its head off.
