Thematic Bible: Crucified jesus

Thematic Bible

When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they took his garments, and made four parts, one for each soldier, and also his tunic. Now the tunic was without seam, woven in one piece from top to bottom. So they said to one another, "Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be." This happened that the Scripture might be fulfilled which says: "They divided my garments among them, and for my clothing they cast lots." This is what the soldiers did.

Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the Praetorium and gathered the whole garrison around him.

And when they had mocked him, they took the robe off him, put his own clothes on him, and led him away to crucify him. Now as they came out, they found a man of Cyrene, Simon by name, and they compelled him to carry his cross. And when they came to a place called Golgotha (which means the place of a skull), read more.
they offered him wine to drink, mingled with gall; but when he tasted it, he would not drink it. And when they had crucified him, they divided his garments among them by casting lots; and sitting down, they kept watch over him there. And they put up over his head the charge written against him: THIS IS JESUS THE KING OF THE JEWS.

The soldiers led him away into the palace (that is, the Praetorium) and they called together the whole battalion. And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and they twisted a crown of thorns and put it on him. And they began to salute him, "Hail, King of the Jews!" read more.
Then they struck him on the head with a reed and spat on him; and falling on their knees, they paid homage to him. And when they had mocked him, they took the purple robe off him, and put his own clothes on him. Then they led him out to crucify him. Then they compelled a certain man, Simon of Cyrene, the father of Alexander and Rufus, as he was coming out of the country and passing by, to carry his cross. And they brought him to the place called Golgotha (which means the place of a skull). Then they offered him wine mingled with myrrh, but he did not take it. And when they crucified him, they divided his garments, casting lots for them to determine what each man should take.
