And there were two thieves crucified with him, one on the right hand, and another on the left hand. They that passed by reviled him, wagging their heads and saying, "Thou that destroyest the temple of God, and buildest it in three days: save thyself. Likewise also the high priests, mocking him with the scribes and elders, said, "He saved others, himself he cannot save. If he be the King of Israel: let him now come down from the cross, and we will believe him. He trusted in God: let God deliver him now if he will have him, for he said, 'I am the son of God.'" That same, also the thieves which were crucified with him cast in his teeth.

And there were two evildoers led with him to be slain. And when they were come to the place which is called Calvary, there they crucified him: and the evildoers, one on right hand, and the other on the left. And the people stood and beheld. And the rulers mocked him with them, saying, "He helped other men, let him help himself if he be Christ, the chosen of God." The soldiers also mocked him, and came and gave him vinegar, and said, "If thou be that King of the Jews, save thyself." And his superscription was written over him, in Greek, Latin, and Hebrew letters: "This is the King of the Jews." And one of the evildoers which hanged, railed on him, saying, "If thou be Christ, save thyself and us."
