I will say of the LORD, He is my hope and my fortress: my God; in him will I secure myself. Surely he shall deliver thee from the snare of the fowler and from the mortal pestilence. He shall cover thee with his feathers, and under his wings thou shalt be secure: his truth shall be thy shield and buckler.



My son, keep thy father's commandment and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee. read more.
For the commandment is fire, and the law is light; and reproofs of chastening are the way of life,


And such trust we have through the Christ towards God: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our sufficiency is of God, who also has made us able ministers of the new testament, not of the letter, but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.



The banquet is made for pleasure, and wine makes merry; but money answers all things.




Then I said, Wisdom is better than strength: even though the poor man's knowledge is despised, and his words are not heard.

If the iron is blunt, and he does not whet the edge, then he must put forth more strength, but the advantages of wisdom excel.

Wisdom appears upon the countenance of him that has understanding, but the eyes of a fool manifest his folly unto the ends of the earth.

Wisdom is the principal thing, therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.

For wisdom is better than precious stones; and all the things that may be desired are not to be compared to it. I, wisdom, dwell with prudence, and I invent the knowledge of giving counsel. The fear of the LORD is to hate evil; pride, arrogancy, the evil way, and the perverse mouth, do I hate. read more.
With me is counsel, and existence; I am understanding; strength belongs to me.

Wisdom, is too high for a fool; he shall not open his mouth in the gate.

Knowledge is good with an inheritance and is the excellency of those that see the sun. For knowledge is a defence, and money is a defence; but wisdom excels in that it gives life to those that have it.



Through wisdom the house shall be built, and with intelligence it shall be established:

Wisdom cries without; she utters her voice in the streets: She cries in the chief place of concourse, in the entrance to the gates of the city she utters her words, saying, How long, ye simple ones, will ye love simplicity? and the scorners delight in their scorning, and the fools hate knowledge? read more.
