And God said, Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to divide between the day and the night. And let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days and years. And let them be for lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth. And it was so. And God made two great lights: the greater light to rule the day and the smaller light to rule the night, and the stars also.
So says Jehovah: If My covenant is not with day and night, and if I have not given the ordinances of the heavens and the earth,

Look! Answer me, O Jehovah my God; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
And now for a little time grace has been shown from Jehovah our God, to leave us a remnant to escape and to give us a nail in His holy place, so that our God may enlighten our eyes and give us a little life in our bondage.
