Book Summary:
God’s name is not mentioned in this book but the pages are full of God who hides himself behind every word. This book is placed between chapters 6 and 7 of Ezra. Easter become queen of Persia (485-425BC) at a time when Persia comprised half the known world. Easter was married to Xerxes and this gave the Jewish people prestige in the courts.
Easter was a sweet and attractive character , beautiful and modest , winsome , obedient, humble , courageous and loyal.
Satan has always tried to stop the plans of God, destroy God’s people, the Jews, the church, and Christ Himself but God has always thwarted his plans and used them for His glory – “the gates of Hell shall not prevail.”
The book of Easter is an important link to show the re-establishment of the Hebrew nation in preparation for the coming of the Messiah – God had preserved them from extermination. This book portrays Christ as the advocate.
