God spoke all these words, saying,

The LORD said to Moses, "Write you these words: for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel." He was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments.

The LORD spoke with you face to face on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, (I stood between the LORD and you at that time, to show you the word of the LORD: for you were afraid because of the fire, and did not go up onto the mountain;) saying, "I am the LORD your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. read more.
"You shall have no other gods before me. "You shall not make an engraved image for yourself, any likeness of what is in heaven above, or on the earth below, or that is in the waters below the earth. You shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, the LORD, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and upon the third and upon the fourth [generation] of those who hate me; and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments. "You shall not take the name of the LORD your God in vain: for the LORD will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain. "Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as the LORD your God commanded you. You shall labor six days, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to the LORD your God, in which you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. You shall remember that you were a servant in the land of Egypt, and the LORD your God brought you out of there by a mighty hand and by an outstretched arm: therefore the LORD your God commanded you to keep the Sabbath day. "Honor your father and your mother, as the LORD your God commanded you; that your days may be long, and that it may go well with you, in the land which the LORD your God gives you. "You shall not murder. "And you shall not commit adultery. "And you shall not steal. "And you shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. "And you shall not desire your neighbor's wife. And neither shall you crave your neighbor's house, his field, or his male servant, or his female servant, his ox, or his donkey, or anything that is your neighbor's." These words the LORD spoke to all your assembly on the mountain out of the midst of the fire, of the cloud, and of the thick darkness, with a great voice; and he added no more. And he wrote them on two tablets of stone, and gave them to me.

The LORD said to Moses, "Chisel two stone tablets like the first: and I will write on the tablets the words that were on the first tablets, which you broke. Be ready by the morning, and come up in the morning to Mount Sinai, and present yourself there to me on the top of the mountain. No one shall come up with you; neither let anyone be seen throughout all the mountain; neither let the flocks nor herds feed before that mountain." read more.
He chiseled two tablets of stone like the first; and Moses rose up early in the morning, and went up to Mount Sinai, as the LORD had commanded him, and took in his hand two stone tablets.

The LORD said to Moses, "Write you these words: for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel." He was there with the LORD forty days and forty nights; he neither ate bread, nor drank water. He wrote on the tablets the words of the covenant, the ten commandments. It happened, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai with the two tablets of the testimony in Moses' hand, when he came down from the mountain, that Moses did not know that the skin of his face shone by reason of his speaking with him.

At that time the LORD said to me, "Cut two tablets of stone like the first, and come up to me onto the mountain, and make an ark of wood. I will write on the tables the words that were on the first tables which you broke, and you shall put them in the ark." So I made an ark of acacia wood, and cut two tablets of stone like the first, and went up onto the mountain, having the two tablets in my hand. read more.
He wrote on the tables, according to the first writing, the ten commandments, which the LORD spoke to you on the mountain out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly: and the LORD gave them to me. I turned and came down from the mountain, and put the tables in the ark which I had made; and there they are as the LORD commanded me.

Moses took half of the blood and put it in basins, and half of the blood he sprinkled on the altar. He took the book of the covenant and read it in the hearing of the people, and they said, "All that the LORD has spoken will we do, and be obedient." Moses took the blood, and sprinkled it on the people, and said, "Look, this is the blood of the covenant, which the LORD has made with you concerning all these words."

I have also established my covenant with them, to give them the land of Canaan, the land of their travels, in which they lived as foreigners.

The LORD said to Moses, "Write you these words: for in accordance with these words I have made a covenant with you and with Israel."
