They are of those who rebel against the light; they know not His ways, nor stay in His paths. The murderer rising with the light kills the poor and needy, and in the night he is a thief. And the eye of the adulterer waits for the twilight, saying, No eye will see me; and he puts a covering on his face. read more.
In the dark they dig through houses which they had marked for themselves in the daytime; they do not know the light. For the morning is to them like the shadow of death; for they know the terrors of the shadow of death. He is swift on the waters; their portion is cursed in the earth; he does not behold the way of the vineyards. Drought and heat eat up the snow waters; so does the grave those who have sinned. The womb shall forget him; the worm shall feed sweetly on him; he shall be remembered no more; and injustice shall be broken like a tree. He ill-treats the women who bear no children; and does no good to the widow. He also draws the mighty with his power; he rises up, and no one is sure of life. He gives safety to him, and he rests on it; yet His eyes are on their ways. They are lifted up for a little while, but are gone and brought low; they are gathered in like all others, and are cut off like the heads of the ears of grain.

The burden concerning the beasts of the south. Into the land of trouble and woe. The lioness and the lion are from them; the viper, and the fiery flying serpent. They carry their riches on the shoulders of young asses, and their treasures on the humps of camels, to a people that cannot profit. For Egypt helps vainly, and worthlessly. So I have cried concerning this, Their strength is to sit still. Now go, write it before them in a tablet, and note it in a book, so that it may be for the time to come forever and ever, that this is a rebellious people, lying sons. They are sons who will not hear the Law of Jehovah; who say to the seers, See not; and to the prophets, Do not prophesy to us right things, speak to us smooth things, prophesy falsehood; go out of the way, turn aside out of the path, cause the Holy One of Israel to cease from before us.

And the Word of Jehovah came to me, saying, Son of man, you dwell in the midst of a rebellious house, who have eyes to see and see not. They have ears to hear and hear not, for they are a rebellious house.
