Reed » Used as a measuring device (six cubits)
And there was given to me a reed, like a staff, one Saying, "Rise, and measure the temple of God, and the altar, and those worshipping therein.

And he who was talking with me had as a measure a golden reed, that he might measure the city, and its gate, and its wall. And the city lies four-square, and its length is as great as the breadth. And he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs; and the length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.
