But Ishmael the son of Nethaniah escaped from Johanan with eight men, and went to the Ammonites. They took mighty men of war, and the women, and the children, and the eunuchs, whom he had brought again from Gibeon.


Then Joshua spoke to Jehovah in the day when Jehovah delivered up the Amorites before the sons of Israel, and he said in the sight of Israel, Sun! Stand still on Gibeon! And, moon, stand still in the valley of Aijalon! And the sun stood still, and the moon stood still, until the people had avenged themselves on their enemies. And there was no day like that before it or after it, that Jehovah listened to the voice of a man. For Jehovah fought for Israel.


And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year. And David inquired of Jehovah. And Jehovah answered, For Saul, and for his bloody house, because he killed the Gibeonites. But the king took the two sons of Rizpah the daughter of Aiah, whom she bore to Saul, Armoni and Mephibosheth, and the five sons of Michal the daughter of Saul, whom she bore to Adriel the son of Barzillai the Meholathite. And he delivered them into the hands of the Gibeonites. And they hanged them in the hill before Jehovah. And they fell, seven together, and were put to death in the days of harvest, in the first days, in the beginning of barley harvest.


And David did as God commanded him. And they struck the army of the Philistines from Gibeon to Gezer.
