thou shall surely set him king over thee whom LORD thy God shall choose. Thou shall set a king over thee from among thy brothers. Thou may not put a foreigner over thee who is not thy brother.
However LORD, the God of Israel, chose me out of all the house of my father to be king over Israel forever. For he has chosen Judah to be ruler, and in the house of Judah, the house of my father, and among the sons of my father he And of all my sons (for LORD has given me many sons), he has chosen Solomon my son to sit upon the throne of the kingdom of LORD over Israel. And he said to me, Solomon thy son, he shall build my house and my courts, for I have chosen him to be my son, and I will be his father.
