And the king commanded that they bring great stones, costly stones, for the foundation of the house, and hewed stones. And Solomon's builders and Hiram's builders hewed them, and the stonesquarers; so they prepared timber and stones to build the house.

All these works were of costly stones, cut and sawed with saws according to the measurements, within and without, even from the foundation unto the coping, and so on the outside unto the great court. And the foundation was of costly stones, even great stones, stones of ten cubits and stones of eight cubits.
