of how much heavier punishment, think ye, will he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite to the Spirit of grace? For we know him who said, "Vengeance belongeth to me, I will recompense, saith the Lord;" and again, "The Lord will judge his people." It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.


He said therefore, A certain nobleman went into a far country to receive for himself a kingdom, and to return. And he called his ten servants, and gave them ten pounds, and said to them, Trade with these, till I come. But his citizens hated him, and sent an embassy after him, saying, We will not have this man to reign over us.





Pilate saith to them, What then shall I do with Jesus, who is called Christ? They all say, Let him be crucified. And he said, Why, what evil hath he done? But they cried out the more, saying, Let him be crucified.

And when it was morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people consulted together against Jesus, to put him to death. And having bound him, they led him away, and delivered him up to Pilate the governor.

He that hateth me, hateth my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no other man hath done, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both me and my Father.
