Six days after this, Jesus took Peter and James and his brother John, and led them up on a high mountain, by themselves. And Peter interrupted, and said to Jesus, "Lord, it is good for us to be here! If you consent, I will put up three tents here, one for you, one for Moses, and one for Elijah." While he was still speaking, a bright cloud cast its shadow over them, and a voice from the cloud said, "This is my Son, my Beloved, in whom I am delighted. Keep on listening to Him!" When the disciples heard it, they fell upon their faces, for they were terribly frightened. Then Jesus came and touched them, and said, "Get up and do not be so afraid." They looked up and saw no one but Jesus Himself.
