As for this image, its head was of fine gold, its breast and its arms of silver, its belly and its thighs of brass,

And the people came to Moses, and said, We have sinned, because we have spoken against Jehovah, and against thee; pray unto Jehovah, that he take away the serpents from us. And Moses prayed for the people. And Jehovah said unto Moses, Make thee a fiery serpent, and set it upon a standard: and it shall come to pass, that every one that is bitten, when he seeth it, shall live. And Moses made a serpent of brass, and set it upon the standard: and it came to pass, that if a serpent had bitten any man, when he looked unto the serpent of brass, he lived.


In that day shall this song be sung in the land of Judah: we have a strong city; salvation will he appoint for walls and bulwarks.

Violence shall no more be heard in thy land, desolation nor destruction within thy borders; but thou shalt call thy walls Salvation, and thy gates Praise.







Thou hast also given me the shield of thy salvation; And thy gentleness hath made me great.


Great deliverance giveth he to his king, And showeth lovingkindness to his anointed, To David and to his seed, for evermore.


Was Jehovah displeased with the rivers? Was thine anger against the rivers, Or thy wrath against the sea, That thou didst ride upon thy horses, Upon thy chariots of salvation?


I will take the cup of salvation, And call upon the name of Jehovah.




For Zion's sake will I not hold my peace, and for Jerusalem's sake I will not rest, until her righteousness go forth as brightness, and her salvation as a lamp that burneth.
