All the elders of the city nearest to the victim will wash their hands by the stream over the young cow whose neck has been broken.

I wash my hands in innocence
and go around Your altar, Lord,

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that a riot was starting instead, he took some water, washed his hands in front of the crowd, and said, “I am innocent of this man’s blood. See to it yourselves!”


Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew they were naked; so they sewed fig leaves together and made loincloths for themselves. But I will certainly judge you
because you have said, “I have not sinned.”
