{How much more} when wicked men kill a righteous man in his house, on his bed! So then, shall I not seek his lifeblood from your hand, so that I may destroy you from the earth?" Then David commanded the young men, and they killed them, and they cut off their hands and their feet, and they hung [them] at the pool at Hebron, but the head of Ish-Bosheth they took and buried in the grave of Abner at Hebron.


Then David called to one of the young men and said to him, "Come near; strike him." So he struck him down and he died. David said to him, "Your blood [is] on your head, for your mouth has testified against you by saying, 'I killed Yahweh's anointed one!'"


Why have you despised the word of Yahweh by doing evil in his eyes? Uriah the Hittite you have struck down with the sword, and his wife you have taken to yourself as wife! You have killed him with the sword of the {Ammonites}! So then, a sword will not turn away from your house forever, because you have despised me and have taken the wife of Uriah the Hittite to be your wife!'


Then the king said to him, "Do as he spoke; fall upon him and bury him, and so you shall remove the innocent blood that Joab shed from on me and from on the house of my father. Yahweh will return his blood on his head, because he fell upon two men, more righteous and better than he, and he killed them with the sword, even though my father did not know it; [namely] Abner son of Ner, commander of the army of Israel, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of the army of Judah. And their blood will return on the head of Joab and on the head of his descendants forever, but for David and his descendants and for his house and his throne, [there] will be peace forever from Yahweh." read more.
So Benaiah son of Jehoiada went up, and he fell on him and killed him, and he was buried in his house in the wilderness.


So now you are cursed from the ground, which has opened its mouth to receive the blood of your brother from your hand. When you till the ground {it shall no longer yield its strength to you}. You shall be a wanderer and a fugitive on the earth." And Cain said to Yahweh, "My punishment [is] greater than [I can] bear. read more.

I will be a wanderer and a fugitive on the earth, and it will happen that whoever finds me will kill me." Then Yahweh said to him, "Therefore, whoever kills Cain will be avenged sevenfold." Then Yahweh put a sign on Cain so that whoever found him would not kill him.


It happened that when the kingdom was firmly in his hand, he killed his servants who had killed his father the king.


And they hanged Haman on the gallows that he had prepared for Mordecai, and the anger of the king was abated.
