Isaiah 2:1 (show verse)

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw in a vision, concerning Judah and Jerusalem.

Isaiah 2:2 (show verse)

It shall come to pass in the last days that the mount of the house of the LORD, shall be set in the top of the mountains, and shall be lifted up above the hills: and all nations shall resort thereto.

Isaiah 2:3 (show verse)

And much people shall go and say: come, and let us go up to the hill of the LORD and unto the house of the God of Jacob: that he may teach us his ways, and that we may walk in his paths. For out of Zion shall come the law, and the word of God out of Jerusalem.

Isaiah 2:4 (show verse)

And he shall be judge among the heathen and tell many nations their faults. And they shall turn their swords into mattocks and their spears into scythes. One nation shall not lift up a sword against another, neither shall they teach to war any more.

Isaiah 2:5 (show verse)

O house of Jacob, come and let us walk in the light of the LORD.

Isaiah 2:6 (show verse)

But thou hast forsaken thy people the house of Jacob, because they go far beyond the east countries in Sorcerers - who they have as the Philistines had - and in calkers of men's births, whereof they have too many.

Isaiah 2:7 (show verse)

As soon as your land was full of silver and gold, and no end of your treasure; so soon as your land was full of strong horses and no end of your chariots:

Isaiah 2:8 (show verse)

Immediately was it full of idols also, even works of your own hands, which ye yourselves have fashioned, and your fingers have made.

Isaiah 2:9 (show verse)

There kneeleth the man, there falleth the man down before them; but thou, O LORD, wilt not leave them unpunished.

Isaiah 2:10 (show verse)

And therefore get thee soon into some rock, and hide thee in the ground for the fear of the LORD, and for the glory of his majesty:

Isaiah 2:11 (show verse)

which casteth down the high looks of presumptuous persons, and bringeth low the pride of man, and the LORD only shall be exalted in that day.

Isaiah 2:12 (show verse)

For the day of the LORD of Hosts shall go over all pride and presumption, upon all them that exalt themselves, and shall bring them all down:

Isaiah 2:13 (show verse)

upon all high and stout Cedar trees of Lebanon, and upon all the oaks of Bashan,

Isaiah 2:14 (show verse)

upon all high hills, and upon all stout mountains,

Isaiah 2:15 (show verse)

upon all costly towers, and upon all strong walls,

Isaiah 2:16 (show verse)

upon all ships of Tarshish, and upon everything that is glorious and pleasant to look upon.

Isaiah 2:17 (show verse)

And it shall bring down the pride of man, and lay man's presumptuousness full low, and the LORD shall only have the victory in that day.

Isaiah 2:18 (show verse)

But the Idols shall utterly be rooted out.

Isaiah 2:19 (show verse)

Men shall creep into holes of stone, and into caves of the earth, for the fear of the LORD, and from the glory of his majesty: what time as he shall arise to shake the earth.

Isaiah 2:20 (show verse)

Then, then shall man cast away his gods of silver and gold - which he nevertheless had made to honour them - unto moles and bats

Isaiah 2:21 (show verse)

that he may the better creep into the caves and rocks, and into the cliffs of hard stones, from the sight of the fearful judge and from the glory of his Majesty.

Fear not, then, any man whose breath is in his nostrils - for what is he?
