Every valley shall be filled up and every mountain and hill shall be cut down; and the crooked places shall be straight and the rough ways smooth. And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Enter ye in through the narrow gate: because wide is the gate and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there are, who are going in through it. Because narrow is the gate, and contracted the way, that leadeth into life, and few there are who find it.

But what went you out into the wilderness to see? a man clothed in soft raiment? Behold those who are in gaudy apparel and luxury, are in royal palaces. But what went you out to see? a prophet? Yea, and I say unto you even more than a prophet. This is he concerning whom it has been written, Behold, I send my messenger before thy face, who will prepare thy way before thee. I say unto you, among those having been born of women no prophet is greater than John the Baptist; nevertheless the least in the kingdom of God is greater than he.
