Jesus spoke all of these things to the multitudes in parables; and without a parable He was not speaking to them: in order that the word spoken by Isaiah, the prophet, saying, I will open my mouth in parables: I will make known the things which have been hidden from the foundation.
And in many such parables He continued to speak the word to them, as they were able to hear. And without a parable He did not speak to them: and He privately expounded all things to His disciples.
