And upon his coming to the other side, into the country of the Gergesenes, two men being demon possessed met him, coming out of the sepulchers, exceedingly fierce, so that no man could pass by that way. And behold, they cried out, saying, What is with us and thee, Jesus, Son of God? Did thou come here before the time to torment us? And the demons besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, allow us to go away into the herd of swine. And he said to them, Go. And having come out, they went into the herd of swine. And behold, the whole herd of the swine stampeded down the slope into the sea, and perished in the waters.

Now there was near the mountain a great herd of swine feeding. And all the demons besought him, saying, Send us into the swine, so that we may enter into them. And straightaway, Jesus allowed them. And the unclean spirits having come out, entered into the swine. And the herd stampeded down the slope into the sea, and were drowned in the sea. And there were about two thousand. read more.
And those who fed the swine fled, and reported in the city and in the fields. And they came to see what it was that happened.

Now a herd of considerable swine was there feeding on the mountain, and they implored him that he would allow them to enter into those. And he allowed them. And the demons having come out from the man, they entered into the swine. And the herd stampeded down the slope into the lake, and were drowned.
