And when he was come to the other side, into the country of the Gergesites, there met him two possessed of devils, which came out of the graves, and were out of measure fierce, so that no man might go by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, "O Jesus, the son of God, what have we to do with thee? Art thou come hither to torment us before the time be come?" Then the devils besought him saying, "If thou cast us out, suffer us to go our way into the herd of swine." And he said unto them, "Go your ways." Then went they out, and departed into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine was carried with violence headlong into the sea, and perished in the water.

And there was there, nigh unto the mountains, a great herd of swine feeding, and all the devils besought him saying, "Send us into the herd of swine, that we may enter into them." And anon Jesus gave them leave; And the unclean spirits went out and entered into the swine. And the herd startled, and ran headlong into the sea. They were about two thousand swine, and they were drowned in the sea. read more.
And the swine herders fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they came out for to see, what had happened;

And there was thereby a herd of many swine, feeding on a hill, and they besought him, that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them. Then went the devils out of the man, and entered into the swine: And the herd took their course, and ran headlong into the lake, and were choked.
