Then the high priest tore his clothing, saying, "He has spoken blasphemy. Why do we need any more witnesses? See, now you have heard his blasphemy.

You have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" They all condemned him to be worthy of death.

The Jewish leaders answered him, "We do not stone you for a good work, but for blasphemy: because you, being a man, make yourself God." The scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying, "Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins, but God alone?"

And just then they brought to him a man who was paralyzed, lying on a bed. And Jesus, seeing their faith, said to the paralytic, "Son, cheer up. Your sins are forgiven." And at once some of the scribes said to themselves, "This man blasphemes." But Jesus, knowing their thoughts, said, "Why do you think evil in your hearts? read more.

They answered Jesus, and said, "We do not know." He also said to them, "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.
