Then Job answered and said, How long will you torment my soul, and break me in pieces with words? These ten times have you reproached me: you are not ashamed that you have wronged me. read more.
And if indeed I have erred, my error remains with myself. If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach: Know now that God has overthrown me, and has compassed me with his net. Behold, I cry out concerning wrong, but I am not heard: I cry aloud, but there is no justice. He has fenced up my way that I cannot pass, and he has set darkness in my paths. He has stripped me of my glory, and taken the crown from my head. He has destroyed me on every side, and I am gone: and my hope has he removed like a tree. He has also kindled his wrath against me, and he counts me unto him as one of his enemies. His troops come together, and raise up their way against me, and encamp round about my tent. He has put my brethren far from me, and my acquaintances are wholly estranged from me. My kinsfolk have failed, and my close friends have forgotten me. They that dwell in my house, and my maidservants, count me as a stranger: I am an alien in their sight. I called my servant, and he gave me no answer; I entreated him with my mouth. My breath is repulsive to my wife, though I make supplication for the children of my own body. Yea, young children despised me; I arose, and they spoke against me. All my close friends abhorred me: and they whom I loved have turned against me. My bone clings to my skin and to my flesh, and I have escaped by the skin of my teeth. Have pity upon me, have pity upon me, O you my friends; for the hand of God has touched me. Why do you persecute me as God, and are not satisfied with my flesh? Oh that my words were now written! oh that they were printed in a book! That they were engraved with an iron pen and lead in the rock forever! For I know that my redeemer lives, and that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: And though after my skin is thus destroyed, yet in my flesh shall I see God: Whom I shall see for myself, and my eyes shall behold, and not another; though my heart be consumed within me.

But now they that are younger than I hold me in derision, whose fathers I would have disdained to have set with the dogs of my flock. Yea, how might the strength of their hands profit me, in whom vigor has perished? From want and famine they are gaunt; fleeing of late into the wilderness, desolate and waste. read more.
Who pick mallows by the bushes, and juniper roots for their food. They were driven forth from among men, (they cried after them as after a thief;) To dwell in the clefts of the valleys, in caves of the earth, and in the rocks. Among the bushes they brayed; under the nettles they were gathered together. They were children of fools, yea, children of base men: they were viler than the earth. And now am I their song, yea, I am their byword. They abhor me, they flee far from me, and hesitate not to spit in my face.

But you are forgers of lies, you are all physicians of no value. O that you would altogether hold your peace! and it should be your wisdom. Hear now my reasoning, and hearken to the pleadings of my lips. read more.
Will you speak wickedly for God? and talk deceitfully for him? Will you accept his person? will you contend for God? Is it good that he should search you out? or as one man mocks another, do you so mock him? He will surely reprove you, if you do secretly show partiality. Shall not his excellence make you afraid? and his dread fall upon you? Your proverbs are like unto ashes, your defenses are defenses of clay. Hold your peace, let me alone, that I may speak, and let come on me what will.

Then Job answered and said, I have heard many such things: miserable comforters are you all. Shall vain words have an end? or what emboldens you that you answer? read more.
I also could speak as you do: if your soul were in my soul's place, I could heap up words against you, and shake my head at you.

Are there not mockers with me? and does not my eye continue in their provocation?

Then Job answered and said, How long will you torment my soul, and break me in pieces with words? These ten times have you reproached me: you are not ashamed that you have wronged me. read more.
And if indeed I have erred, my error remains with myself. If indeed you will magnify yourselves against me, and plead against me my reproach:

Who are you that judge another man's servant? to his own master he stands or falls. Yea, he shall be held up: for God is able to make him stand.

The soul that sins, it shall die. The son shall not bear the iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him.

The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

If you are wise, you shall be wise for yourself: but if you scoff, you alone shall bear it.

But everyone shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

Who are you that judge another man's servant? to his own master he stands or falls. Yea, he shall be held up: for God is able to make him stand.

For by your words you shall be justified, and by your words you shall be condemned.

Now he that plants and he that waters are one: and every man shall receive his own reward according to his own labor.

Jesus said unto them, If you were blind, you should have no sin: but now you say, We see; therefore your sin remains.

If you are wise, you shall be wise for yourself: but if you scoff, you alone shall bear it.

But everyone shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eats the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge.

Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, says the Lord GOD. Repent, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity shall not be your ruin.

If I had not come and spoken unto them, they would not have sin: but now they have no cover for their sin. He that hates me hates my Father also. If I had not done among them the works which no other man did, they would not have sin: but now have they both seen and hated both me and my Father.

Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall test every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he has built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

And I will kill her children with death; and all the churches shall know that I am he who searches the minds and hearts: and I will give unto every one of you according to your works.
