And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the money-changers, and the seats of them that sold doves. And said to them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And he went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold in it, and them that bought, Saying to them, It is written, My house is the house of prayer, but ye have made it a den of thieves.

And found in the temple those that sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the changers of money, sitting: And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said to them that sold doves, Take these things hence: make not my Father's house a house of merchandise.

Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days? But he spoke of the temple of his body. When therefore he had risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this to them: and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had spoken. Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he performed. But Jesus did not commit himself to them, because he knew all men. And needed not that any should testify concerning man: for he knew what was in man.


In that ye have brought into my sanctuary strangers, uncircumcised in heart, and uncircumcised in flesh, to be in my sanctuary, to pollute it, even my house, when ye offer my bread, the fat and the blood, and they have broken my covenant because of all your abominations.

And he brought me into the inner court of the LORD'S house, and behold, at the door of the temple of the LORD, between the porch and the altar, were about five and twenty men, with their backs towards the temple of the LORD, and their faces towards the east; and they worshiped the sun towards the east.

Her prophets are light and treacherous persons: her priests have polluted the sanctuary, they have done violence to the law.

And found in the temple those that sold oxen, and sheep, and doves, and the changers of money, sitting:

And he set a carved image, the idol which he had made, in the house of God, of which God had said to David and to Solomon his son, In this house, and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen before all the tribes of Israel, will I put my name for ever:

Moreover, all the chief of the priests, and the people, transgressed very much after all the abominations of the heathen; and polluted the house of the LORD which he had hallowed in Jerusalem.

For the children of Judah have done evil in my sight, saith the LORD: they have set their abominations in the house which is called by my name, to pollute it.

The adversary hath spread out his hand upon all her pleasant things: for she hath seen that the heathen entered into her sanctuary, whom thou didst command that they should not enter into thy congregation.

Ye fools, and blind: for which is greater, the gold, or the temple that sanctifieth the gold?

And it came to pass, when the priests had come out of the holy place, that the cloud filled the house of the LORD,
