Then He opened their mind, that they might understand the Scriptures; and He said to them, "Thus it has been written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise from the dead on the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in His name to all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem. Ye are witnesses of these things, And, behold, I send forth the promise of My Father upon you; but abide ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high."

When, therefore, it was evening, on that day, the first day of sabbaths; and, when, through fear of the Jews, the doors were shut, where the disciples were; Jesus came and stood in the midst, and saith to them, "Peace be to you!"
