The Jews therefore said to the man who was cured, It is Sabbath. It is not permitted for thee to take up the bed. He answered them, The man who made me well, that man said to me, Take up thy bed and walk. Therefore they asked him, Who is the man who said to thee, Take up thy bed and walk? But the man who was healed had not known who he is, for Jesus withdrew, a multitude being in the place. After these things Jesus finds him in the temple, and said to him, Behold, thou have become well. Sin no more, lest something worse may happen to thee. The man departed and reported to the Jews that Jesus is the man who made him well. And because of this the Jews persecuted Jesus, and sought to kill him, because he did these things on a Sabbath.
