I am the Living Bread That came down out of Heaven: if any one eat of This Bread, he shall live forever; yea, and the Bread That I will give him is My flesh, for the life of the world." The Jews, therefore, were wrangling with one another, saying, "How can This Man give us His flesh to eat?" Many, therefore, of His disciples, having heard this, said, "This is a hard saying! Who can hear it?" But Jesus, knowing in Himself that his disciples were murmuring about this, said to them, "Does this cause you to stumble? What, then, if ye behold the Son of Man ascending where He was before? It is the Spirit That giveth life; the flesh profits nothing: the words which I have spoken to you are spirit, and they are life.

My little children, these things I write to you, that ye may not sin. And, if any one sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ, the Righteous. And He is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world. And in this we know that we have known Him, if we keep His commandments. read more.
He who says, "I have known Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him; but whosoever keeps His word, truly in him the love of God has been perfected: in this we know that we are in Him. Philip says to Him, "Lord, show us the Father, and it suffices us." Jesus saith to him, "So long a time am I with you, and you do not know Me, Philip! He who has seen Me has seen the Father; how say you, 'Show us the Father?' Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me? And whatsoever ye shall ask in My name, this will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask anything in My name, I will do it. "If ye love Me, ye will keep My commandments; and I will ask of the Father, and He will give you another Advocate, that He may be with you forever; the Spirit of truth, Whom the world cannot receive, because it beholds Him not, neither knows Him: ye know Him, because He abideth with you, and will be in you. For ye behold your calling, brethren, that not many wise according to flesh, not many mighty, not many noble, are chosen; but God chose the foolish things of the world, that He might put to shame the wise; and God chose the weak things of the world, that He might put to shame the things that are strong; and the base things of the world, and things despised, did God choose, and the things that are not, that He might bring to nought the things that are; read more.

Jesus spake these things; and, lifting up His eyes to Heaven, said, "Father, the hour has come; glorify Thy Son, that the Son may glorify Thee; even as Thou gavest Him authority over all flesh, that to all Whom Thou hast given Him He should give eternal life. I glorified Thee on the earth; having completed the work which Thou hast given Me to do. And, now, Father, glorify Thou Me with Thine Own Self, with the glory which I had with Thee before the world was. I manifested Thy name to the men whom Thou gavest Me out of the world. Thine they were; and Thou gavest them to Me; and they have kept Thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever Thou gavest Me are from Thee; because the words which Thou gavest Me I have given to them, and they received them, and knew truly that I came forth from Thee, and believed that Thou didst send Me. I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for those whom Thou hast given Me; because they are Thine. And all Mine are Thine, and Thine are Mine; and I am glorified in them. And I am no longer in the world; and these are in the world, and I come to Thee. Holy Father, keep, in Thine Own name, those whom Thou hast given Me, that they may be one, even as we are. While I was with them, I was keeping, in Thy name, those Whom Thou hast given Me; and I guarded them, and no one of them perished, except the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled. But now I come to Thee, and these things I speak in the world, that they may have My joy made full in themselves. I have given them Thy word, and the world hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that Thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that Thou shouldest keep them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them in the truth; Thy word is truth. As Thou didst send Me into the world, I also sent them into the world; and in their behalf I sanctify Myself, that they also may be sanctified in truth. And I do not pray for these only, but for those also who believe on Me through their word; that they may all be one, even as Thou, Father, art in Me, and I in Thee, that they also may be in us; that the world may believe that Thou didst send Me. And the glory which Thou hast given to Me I have given to them, that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and Thou in Me, that they may be perfected into one; that the world may know that Thou didst send Me, and lovedst them, even as Thou didst love Me. Father, as to what Thou hast given Me, I desire that they also maybe with Me, where I am; that they may behold My glory, which Thou hast given Me; because Thou didst love Me before the founding of a world. O righteous Father! and the world knew Thee not; but I knew Thee, and these knew that Thou didst send Me; and I made known to them Thy name, and will make it known; that the love with which Thou lovedst Me may be in them, and I in them."

On the morrow the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea saw that there was no other boat there, except one, and that Jesus, entered not with His disciples into the boat, but His disciples went away alone (yet there came boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread, the Lord having given thanks): when, therefore, the multitude saw that Jesus was not there, nor His disciples, they themselves entered into the boats, and came to Capernaum, seeking Jesus. read more.

Work not for the food that perishes, but for the food that abides unto eternal life, which the Son of Man will give to you; for Him God the Father sealed." They said, therefore, "What must we do, that we may work the works of God?" Jesus answered, and said to them, "This is the work of God, that ye believe on Him Whom He sent." They said, therefore, to Him, "What sign doest Thou, then, that we may see, and believe Thee? What doest Thou?
