Luke 10:1

After these things the Lord appointed other seventy also, and sent them two by two into every place, whither he himself intended to come.

Luke 10:2

And he said to them, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few: pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he would send forth labourers into his harvest.

Luke 10:3

Go: behold I send you forth as lambs in the midst of wolves.

Luke 10:4

Carry not purse or scrip or shoes, and salute no man by the way.

Luke 10:5

And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.

Luke 10:6

And if a son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.

Luke 10:7

And remain in the same house eating and drinking such things as they have; for the labourer is worthy of his hire: go not from house to house.

Luke 10:8

And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you.

Luke 10:9

And heal the sick that are therein, and say to them, The kingdom of God is come nigh to you.

Luke 10:10

But into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, going out into the streets of it, say,

Luke 10:11

Even the dust of your city which cleaveth to our feet, do we wipe off against you: yet know this, that the kingdom of God is at hand.

Luke 10:12

I say to you, it shall be more tolerable in that day for Sodom than for that city.

Luke 10:13

Wo to thee, Chorazin, wo to thee Bethsaida; for if the mighty works which have been done in you, had been done in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago, sitting in sackcloth and ashes.

Luke 10:14

But it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the judgment than for you.

Luke 10:15

And thou, Capernaum, which hast been exalted to heaven, shall be thrust down to hell.

Luke 10:16

He that heareth you, heareth me; and he that rejecteth you, rejecteth me; and he that rejecteth me, rejecteth him that sent me.

Luke 10:17

And the seventy returned with joy, saying, Lord, even the devils are subject to us thro' thy name.

Luke 10:18

And he said to them, I beheld Satan falling as lightning from heaven.

Luke 10:19

Behold I give ydu power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy,

Luke 10:20

and nothing shall in any wise hurt you.

Luke 10:21

Yet in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject to you; but rather rejoice, that your names are written in heaven. In that hour Jesus rejoiced in spirit and said, I thank thee, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, that thou hast hid these things from the wise and prudent, and hast revealed them to babes: even so, Father; for so it seemed good in thy sight.

Luke 10:22

All things are delivered to me of my Father; and no one knoweth who the Son is, but the Father, and who the Father is, but the Son, and he to whom the Son is pleased to reveal him.

Luke 10:23

And turning to the disciples, he said privately, Blessed are the eyes which see the things that ye see.

Luke 10:24

For I tell you, many prophets and kings have desired to see the things which ye see, and have not seen them, and to hear the things which ye hear, and have not heard them.

Luke 10:25

And behold, a certain scribe stood up, and trying him, said, Master, what shall I do, to inherit eternal life?

Luke 10:26

He said to him, What is written in the law?

Luke 10:27

How readest thou? And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself.

Luke 10:28

And he said to him, Thou hast answered right: this do and thou shalt live.

Luke 10:29

But he willing to justify himself, said to Jesus, And who is my neighbour?

Luke 10:30

And Jesus answering said, A certain man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, who having stripped and wounded him departed, leaving him half dead.

Luke 10:31

And it came to pass that a certain priest came down that way, and seeing him, passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:32

And likewise a Levite, when he was at the place, came and looked, and passed by on the other side.

Luke 10:33

But a certain Samaritan journeying, came where he was, and seeing him,

Luke 10:34

was moved with tender compassion, And going to him, bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and setting him on his own beast, he brought him to an inn, and took care of him.

Luke 10:35

And on the morrow departing, he took out two pieces of money, and gave them to the host, and said to him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest more, as I come back I will repay thee.

Luke 10:36

Which now of these three, thinkest thou, was the neighbour to him that fell among the robbers?

Luke 10:37

And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus to him, Go and do thou likewise.

Luke 10:38

And as they went, he entered into a certain village, and a certain woman, named Martha, received him into her house.

Luke 10:39

And she had a sister called Mary,

Luke 10:40

who also sitting at the feet of Jesus, heard his discourse. But Martha was incumbered with much serving; and coming to him she said, Lord, dost thou not care, that my sister hath left me to serve alone?

Luke 10:41

Bid her therefore help me. But Jesus answering said to her, Martha, Martha! Thou art careful and hurried about many things:

Luke 10:42

But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen the good part, which shall not be taken from her.
