Luke 18:1 (show verse)
And He spake a parable to them, to the end that they ought always to pray, and not to faint;
Luke 18:2 (show verse)
saying, "There was in a city a judge, who feared not God, nor regarded man.
Luke 18:3 (show verse)
And there was a widow in that city; and she kept coming to him, saying, 'Avenge me of my adversary.'
Luke 18:4 (show verse)
And he would not for a time; but afterward he said within himself, 'Though I fear not God, nor regard man;
Luke 18:5 (show verse)
yet, because this widow occasions me trouble, I will avenge her, lest, by her persistent coming, she wear me out.'"

And the Lord said, "Hear what the judge of unrighteousness says.
Luke 18:7 (show verse)
And will not God avenge His elect, who are crying to Him day and night, and He is long suffering over them?
Luke 18:8 (show verse)
I say to you, that He will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless, will the Son of Man, when He cometh, find the faith on the earth?"

And He spake also this parable to some who had trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised the rest:

Two men went up into the temple to pray; one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-collector.
Luke 18:11 (show verse)
The Pharisee, having taken his stand, was praying these things with himself: 'God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this tax-collector!
Luke 18:12 (show verse)
I fast twice on the Sabbath; I give a tenth of all that I acquire.'
Luke 18:13 (show verse)
"But the tax-collector, standing afar off, would not lift up even his eyes to heaven, but was smiting his breast, saying, 'God, be merciful to me, the sinner!'
Luke 18:14 (show verse)
I say to you, this man went down justified to his house, rather than the other; because every one who exalts himself shall be humbled, but he who humbles himself shall be exalted."

And they were bringing to Him their babes, also, that He might touch them; but the disciples, seeing it, were rebuking them.

But Jesus called them to Him, saying, "Suffer the little children to come to Me, and forbid them not; for to such belongs the Kingdom of God.

Verily I say to you, whosoever does not receive the Kingdom of God as a little child, shall in no wise enter therein."

And a certain ruler asked Him, saying, "Good Teacher, by doing what shall I inherit eternal life?"

And Jesus said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good, but One??od.
Luke 18:20 (show verse)
You know the commandments, 'Do not commit adultery,' 'Do not kill,' 'Do not steal,' 'Do not bear false witness,' 'Honor your father and your mother.'"

And he said, "All these I observed from my youth."

And Jesus, hearing it said to him, "Yet one thing is lacking to you; sell all that you have, and distribute to the poor, and you shall have treasure in Heaven, and come, follow Me."

And, when he heard these things, he became very sorrowful; for he was exceedingly rich.
Luke 18:24 (show verse)
And Jesus, seeing him, said, "With what difficulty do those having riches enter into the Kingdom of God!
Luke 18:25 (show verse)
for it is easier for a camel to enter through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the Kingdom of God."

And those hearing it said, "And who can be saved?"
Luke 18:27 (show verse)
But He said, "The things impossible with men are possible with God."
Luke 18:28 (show verse)
And Peter said, "Behold, having left our possessions, we followed Thee."

And He said to them, "Verily I say to you there is no one who left house, or wife, or brothers, or parents, or children for the sake of the Kingdom of God,

who shall not receive manifold more in this time, and in the coming age eternal life."

And, taking the twelve aside, He said to them, "Behold, we are going up to Jerusalem; and all the things, written through the prophets respecting the Son of Man, will be accomplished;

for He will be delivered up to the gentiles, and will be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,
Luke 18:33 (show verse)
and they will scourge Him, and kill Him; and, on the third day, He will rise again."

And they understood none of these things; and this saying was hidden from them, and they were not understanding the things being said.

And it came to pass, when He was drawing near to Jericho, that a certain blind man was sitting by the wayside, begging.

And, hearing a multitude passing along, he was inquiring what this might be.
Luke 18:37 (show verse)
And they told him, that Jesus the Nazarene was passing by.
Luke 18:38 (show verse)
And he cried, saying, "Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Luke 18:39 (show verse)
And those going before were rebuking him, that he should be silent; but he kept crying out much more, "Son of David, have mercy on me!"
Luke 18:40 (show verse)
And Jesus, standing still, commanded that he be brought to Him; and, when he drew near, He asked him,
Luke 18:41 (show verse)
"What do you wish that I should do for you?" And he said, "Lord, that I may receive sight."
Luke 18:42 (show verse)
And Jesus said to him, "Receive sight; your faith has made you whole."
Luke 18:43 (show verse)
And instantly he received sight, and was following Him, glorifying God. And all the people, seeing it, gave praise to God.
