Then certain of the scribes and Pharisees addressed him, saying, Master, we desire to see a sign from thee. But he answered and said unto them, A wicked and adulterous generation seeketh a sign; and no sign shall be given it, but the sign of Jonah the prophet:

The same day came certain Pharisees, saying to him, Depart, and begone from hence: for Herod will kill thee. And he said to them, Go tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and perform cures today and to-morrow, and on the third day I shall be perfected.
