And the day began to decline; and the twelve came and said to him: Send the multitude away, that they may go into the villages, and the country round about, and lodge, and find food; for we are here in a desert place. But he said to them: Do you give them food. They replied: We have nothing but five loaves and two fishes, unless we go and buy food for all these people. For there were about five thousand men. And he said to his disciples: Make them recline in companies of fifty. And they did so, and made them all recline. And they all ate, and were satisfied; and there was taken up what remained to them of the broken pieces, twelve baskets.
