And the Lord said: Simon, Simon, behold, Satan has demanded you apostles for himself, that he may sift you as wheat.

For which reason God delivered them up, in the desires of their hearts, to uncleanness, that they might dishonor their bodies among themselves;

For I rejoiced greatly when the brethren came and testified to the truth that is in you, even as you walk in the truth.

Nicodemus answered and said to him: How can these things be?

I say to you, It shall be more tolerable, in that day, for Sodom, than for that city.

Now there was a certain man in Caesarea, named Cornelius, a centurion of the band called the Italian band,

And they began to inquire among themselves, which of them it could be that was about to do this thing.

And it came to pass, while all the people were being immersed, that Jesus also was immersed; and as he was praying, the heaven was opened,

After these things, Jesus and his disciples came into the land of Judea, and he remained there with them, and immersed.

And it came to pass, as the time for him to be taken up into heaven had fully come, that he set his face steadfastly to go up to Jerusalem.

This I say, therefore, and appeal to you solemnly in the Lord, that you no longer walk as the other Gentiles walk, in the error of their minds,

or does he say it wholly for our sakes? For our sakes, no doubt, it was written: that he that plows should plow in hope, and that he that thrashes should thrash in hope of partaking.

For I do not wish you, brethren, to be ignorant of this mystery lest you be wise in your own conceit that blindness has happened to Israel in part, till the full number of the Gen tiles shall have come in.

And being asked by the Pharisees, when the kingdom of God should come, he answered them and said: The kingdom of God comes not so as to attract attention;

"When, therefore, he was raised from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this. And they believed the scripture, and the word that Jesus had spoken.

Our fathers worshiped in this mountain, and you Jews say that in Jerusalem is the place where we ought to worship.

For if we sin willfully, after we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remains no longer a sacrifice for sins;

But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day with the Lord is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Then the Jews said to him: Forty and six years was this temple in building, and will you rebuild it in three days?

For the earnest expectation of the creature waits for the revelation of the sons of God.

And the angel said to them: Be not afraid; for, behold, I bring you good news of great joy, which shall be for all people.

The Lord, therefore, after he had spoken to them, was taken up into heaven: and he sat down at the right hand of God.

And they took him, and brought him to Mars hill, saying: Are we able to understand what this new teaching is, which is announced by you?

And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and be led away captive among all nations; and Jerusalem shall be trodden down by the Gentiles, till the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

And the feast of the dedication was celebrated in Jerusalem, and it was winter:

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleopas, and Mary Magdalene.

Now while Paul was waiting for them at Athens, his spirit was stirred within him, when he saw the city full of idols.

And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven; and then shall all the tribes of the land mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

And when he had said these things, he went before, going up to Jerusalem.

And he said to them: "When you pray, say, Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done, as in heaven, so on earth.

Other seed fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth: and it immediately sprung up, because it had no depth of earth.
