But Mary stood at the sepulchre, without, weeping: as therefore she wept, she bent forward towards the sepulchre. And saw two angels in white, sitting, the one at the head, and the other at the feet, where the body of Jesus had lain. And they say unto her, Woman, why weepest thou? She saith to them, Because they have taken away my Lord, and I know not where they have laid him.


And they went out quickly from the sepulchre with fear, and great joy; and ran to carry the tidings to his disciples. And as they were going to tell the disciples, then behold Jesus met them saying, Hail! And they came and held him by the feet, and worshipped him. Then saith Jesus to them, Be not affrighted: go, tell my disciples that they go into Galilee, there shall they see me.

And as she thus spoke, she turned about, and beheld Jesus standing by, and knew not that it was Jesus. Then Jesus said to her, Woman, why art thou weeping? whom art thou seeking? She, supposing that it was the gardener, said to him, Sir, if thou hast carried him hence, tell me where thou hast laid him, and I will take him away. Jesus saith to her, Mary!
