Mark 5:1 (show verse)
And they came to the other side of the sea, into the country of the Gerasenes.
Mark 5:2 (show verse)
And, when He came out of the boat, straightway there met Him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit,
Mark 5:3 (show verse)
who had his dwelling in the tombs; and no one could any longer bind him, not even with a chain;
Mark 5:4 (show verse)
because he had often been bound with fetters and chains, and the chains had been torn asunder by him, and the fetters broken in pieces, and no one had strength to tame him.

And always, night and day, in the tombs and in the mountains, he was crying, and cutting himself with stones.

And, seeing Jesus afar off, he ran and worshiped Him;
Mark 5:7 (show verse)
and, crying with a loud voice, he says, "What is there to me and Thee, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I adjure Thee by God, that Thou torment me not!"

For He said to him, "Come forth, unclean spirit, out of the man!"
Mark 5:9 (show verse)
And He asked him, "What is your name?" And he says to Him, "My name is Legion, because we are many."
Mark 5:10 (show verse)
And he was beseeching Him much, that He would not send them away out of the country.
Mark 5:11 (show verse)
Now there was there by the mountain a great herd of swine feeding
Mark 5:12 (show verse)
And they besought Him, saying, Send us into the swine, that we may enter into them."
Mark 5:13 (show verse)
And He permitted them. And, coming out, the unclean spirits entered into the swine; and the herd rushed down the steep into the sea, about two thousand, and were drowned in the sea.

And those feeding the swine fled, and reported it in the city and in the country. And they came to see what it was that had come to pass.

And they come to Jesus, and behold the demoniac sitting, clothed, and having his right mind??he one who had had the legion, and they were afraid.

And those who saw it declared to them how it befell the demoniac, and concerning the swine.
Mark 5:17 (show verse)
And they began to beseech Him to depart from their borders.
Mark 5:18 (show verse)
And, as He was entering into the boat, he that had been a demoniac was beseeching Him, that he might be with Him.
Mark 5:19 (show verse)
And He did not permit him, but saith to him, "Go to your house, to your own people, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for you, and how He had mercy on you."

And he went away, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus did for him; and all were wondering.
Mark 5:21 (show verse)
And, Jesus having crossed over in the boat again to the other side, a large multitude was gathered to Him; and He was by the sea.

And there comes one of the synagogue-rulers, Jairus by name; and, seeing Him, he falls at His feet,
Mark 5:23 (show verse)
and beseeches Him much, saying, "My little daughter is extremely ill; I pray that, coming, Thou wilt lay Thy hands upon her, that she may be healed and live."
Mark 5:24 (show verse)
And He went away with him; and a great multitude was following Him, and they were thronging Him.
Mark 5:25 (show verse)
And a woman, having a flow of blood twelve years,
Mark 5:26 (show verse)
and having suffered many things under many physicians, and having spent all that she had, and having been profited nothing, but rather coming into the worse state,
Mark 5:27 (show verse)
having heard the things concerning Jesus, coming in the crowd behind, touched His garment.
Mark 5:28 (show verse)
For she said, "If I touch even His garments, I shall be healed."
Mark 5:29 (show verse)
And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was cured of the plague.
Mark 5:30 (show verse)
And straight-way Jesus, perceiving in Himself that power had gone forth from Him, turning about in the crowd, said, "Who touched Me?"
Mark 5:31 (show verse)
And His disciples said to Him, "Thou seest the multitude thronging Thee, and sayest Thou, 'Who touched Me?'"

And He was looking around to see her who did this.
Mark 5:33 (show verse)
But the woman, fearing and trembling, knowing what was done in her, came, and fell down before Him, and told Him all the truth.

And He said to her, "Daughter, your faith has healed you; go in peace, and be well of your ailment."
Mark 5:35 (show verse)
While He was yet speaking, they come from the synagogue-ruler's house, saying, "Your daughter died; why do you trouble the Teacher any further?"
Mark 5:36 (show verse)
But Jesus, disregarding the word spoken, saith to the synagogue-ruler, "Fear not, only believe."
Mark 5:37 (show verse)
And He permitted no one to follow with Him, except Peter, and James, and John the brother of James.
Mark 5:38 (show verse)
And they come to the house of the synagogue-ruler; and He beholds a tumult, and people weeping and wailing greatly.
Mark 5:39 (show verse)
And, having entered, He saith to them, "Why do ye make a tumult, and weep? the child did not die, but she is sleeping."
Mark 5:40 (show verse)
And they were deriding Him. But He, having put them all out, taketh with Him the father of the child, and the mother, and those with Him, and goeth in where the child was.
Mark 5:41 (show verse)
And, having taken hold of the child's hand, He saith to her, "Talitha cumi;" which is, being interpreted, "Damsel, (I say to you), arise."
Mark 5:42 (show verse)
And straight-way the damsel arose, and walked; for she was twelve years old. And straightway they were amazed with great amazement.
Mark 5:43 (show verse)
And He charged them much that no one should know this; and He commanded that something should be given her to eat.
