And king Herod heard of him (for his name was spread abroad), and he said, John the Baptist has risen from the dead, and therefore virtues operate in him.

Now when John had heard in the prison the works of the Christ, he sent two of his disciples,

Then he began to upbraid the cities wherein most of his mighty works were done because they repented not:

And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished and said, From where does this man have this wisdom and these mighty works?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue; and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From where has this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him and such mighty works that are wrought by his hands?

And when he was come near, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen,

But I have greater testimony than that of John; for the works which the Father has given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me that the Father has sent me.

Jesus answered them, I have told you, and ye do not believe; the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.



And it came to pass, that when Jesus had finished these parables, he departed from there. And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished and said, From where does this man have this wisdom and these mighty works? Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary? and his brothers, James and Joseph and Simon and Judas? read more.
And his sisters, are they not all with us? From where then does this man have all these things? And they were offended in him. But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not without honour except in his own country and in his own house. And he did not do many mighty works there because of their unbelief.

And he went out from there and came into his own country, and his disciples followed him. And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue; and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From where has this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him and such mighty works that are wrought by his hands? Is not this the carpenter, the son of Mary, the brother of James and Joses and of Juda and Simon? and are not his sisters here with us? And they were offended at him. read more.
But Jesus said unto them, A prophet is not dishonoured except in his own country and among his own kin and in his own house. And he could do no mighty work there except that he laid his hands upon a few sick folk and healed them. And he marvelled because of their unbelief. And he went through the villages round about, teaching.


And when he was come into his own country, he taught them in their synagogue, insomuch that they were astonished and said, From where does this man have this wisdom and these mighty works?

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue; and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From where has this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him and such mighty works that are wrought by his hands?

And it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these words, the multitude marvelled at his doctrine;


And the multitude, seeing it, marvelled and glorified God, who had given such power unto men.


And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue; and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From where has this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him and such mighty works that are wrought by his hands?

And it came to pass also on another sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught, and a man was there whose right hand was withered.

If a man on the sabbath day receives circumcision without the law of Moses being broken, are ye angry at me because I have made a man entirely whole on the sabbath day?



Therefore, how much more is a man worth than a sheep? So that it is lawful to do good on the sabbath days.

And Paul, as his manner was, went in unto them, and three sabbath days reasoned with them out of the scriptures,

And immediately the man was made whole and took up his bed and walked, and on that day was the sabbath.

And it was the sabbath day when Jesus had made the clay and had opened his eyes.


But when they departed from Perga, they came to Antioch in Pisidia and went into the synagogue on the sabbath day and sat down.

And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up; and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day and stood up to read.

And he went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and taught them on the sabbath days.

And when the sabbath day was come, he began to teach in the synagogue; and many hearing him were astonished, saying, From where has this man these things? and what wisdom is this which is given unto him and such mighty works that are wrought by his hands?

And it came to pass also on another sabbath that he entered into the synagogue and taught, and a man was there whose right hand was withered.

And God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it because in it he had rested from all his work which God created in perfection.

And he was teaching in one of the synagogues on the sabbath.
