So then ye are no longer strangers and foreigners, but are fellowcitizens with the saints, and members of the household of God, and are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Christ Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone;

And the wall of the city had twelve foundationstones, and on them the twelve names of the twelve apostles of the Lamb.

And seeing the multitudes, he went up into the mountain; and when he had sat down, his disciples came to him. And he opened his mouth, and taught them, saying: Blessed are the poor in spirit; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. read more.
Blessed are they who mourn; for they will be comforted. Blessed are the meek; for they will inherit the earth. Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after righteousness; for they will be filled. Blessed are the merciful; for they will obtain mercy. Blessed are the pure in heart; for they will see God. Blessed are the peacemakers; for they will be called sons of God. Blessed are they who are persecuted for righteousness sake; for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are ye, when men revile you, and persecute you, and say every thing that is bad against you, falsely, for my sake. Rejoice, and be exceeding glad; for great is your reward in heaven; for so did they persecute the prophets that were before you. Ye are the salt of the earth. But if the salt have lost its savor, wherewith shall itself be salted? It is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot by men. Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on a hill cannot be hid; nor do men light a lamp, and put it under the bushel, but on the lampstand; and it giveth light to all that are in the house. In like manner let your light shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father who is in heaven.

While he was yet speaking to the multitudes, lo! his mother and his brothers were standing without, seeking to speak with him. And one said to him, Behold, thy mother and thy brothers are standing without, seeking to speak with thee. But he answered and said to him that told him, Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? read more.
And stretching forth his hand toward his disciples, be said, Behold, my mother and my brothers! For whoever doeth the will of my Father who is in heaven, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

And Jesus answering said to him, Blessed art thou, Simon, son of Jonah; for flesh and blood did not reveal it to thee, but my Father who is in heaven. And I on my part say to thee, that thou art Peter, a rock, and on this rock will I build my church, and the gates of the underworld shall not prevail against it.

And his mother and his brothers came; and, standing without, sent to him, to call him. And a multitude was sitting about him; and they say to him, Lo! thy mother and thy brothers and thy sisters are without, seeking for thee. And he answering saith to them, Who is my mother, and my brothers? read more.
And looking round on those who sat about him, he saith, Behold my mother and my brothers. Whoever shall do the will of God, he is my brother, and sister, and mother.

For I think that God hath set forth us the apostles as lowest, as men sentenced to death; for we have been made a spectacle to the world, to angels, and to men. We are fools for Christs sake, but ye are wise in Christ; we are weak, but ye are strong; ye are in honor, but we are despised. Even to this very hour we both hunger, and thirst, and are naked, and are buffeted, and have no certain dwellingplace, read more.
and labor, working with our own hands; being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we endure it; being slandered, we exhort; we have become as the filth of the world, the offscouring of all things until now.

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are sons of God. For ye did not receive the spirit of bondage so as to be again in fear; but ye received the spirit of adopted children, whereby we cry, Abba, Father! The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are children of God; read more.
and if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and fellowheirs with Christ; if indeed we are suffering with him, that we may also be glorified with him.

Be not strangely yoked with unbelievers; for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? Or what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Beliar? Or what part hath a believer with an unbeliever? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? For ye are the temple of the living God; as God said: "I will dwell among them, and walk among them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people." read more.
"Wherefore come out from the midst of them, and be separated, saith the Lord, and touch not anything unclean;" "and I will receive you, and will be to you a father, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty."

And his mother and his brothers came where he was, and could not get to him on account of the crowd. And word was brought to him, Thy mother and thy brothers stand without, desiring to see thee. And he answering said to them, My mother and my brothers are these, who hear the word of God, and do it.

But we see him who was made a little lower than the angels, Jesus, on account of the suffering of death crowned with glory and honor; that by the grace of God he might taste death for every one. For it became him, for whom are all things, and through whom are all things, in bringing many sons to glory, to make the author of their salvation perfect through sufferings. For both he that sanctifieth and they who are sanctified are all of one; for which cause he is not ashamed to call them brethren;

Jesus therefore answered them, and said, My teaching is not mine, but his that sent me. If any one is desirous to do his will, he will know concerning the teaching, whether it is from God, or whether I speak from myself.
