Immediately Jesus made the disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, while he dismissed the multitudes. When evening came, he was there alone, but the boat by this time was many furlongs distant from the land, beaten by the waves; for the wind was against them. read more.
And in the fourth watch of the night Jesus went to them, walking on the sea. But when the disciples saw him walking on the sea, they were terrified, saying, "It is a ghost!" And they cried out for fear. But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, "Take courage! It is I; do not be afraid." And Peter answered him, "Lord, if it is you, command me to come to you on the water." So he said, "Come". Then Peter got down out of the boat, walked on the water, and came toward Jesus. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid, and beginning to sink he cried out, "Lord, save me!" Jesus immediately reached out his hand and caught him, and said to him, "O you of little faith, why did you doubt?" And when they got into the boat, the wind ceased. Immediately he made his disciples get into the boat and go before him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while he dismissed the crowd. And after he had left them, he went up on the mountain to pray. When evening came, the boat was in the middle of the sea, and he was alone on land. read more.
And he saw the disciples straining at the oars, for the wind was against them. About the fourth watch of the night he came to them, walking on the sea. He was about to pass by them, but when they saw him walking on the sea they thought it was a ghost, and cried out; for they all saw him, and were terrified. But immediately he spoke to them and said, "Take courage! It is I; do not be afraid." Then he climbed into the boat with them, and the wind ceased. And they were completely amazed, for they had not understood about the loaves, because their hearts were hardened. When they had crossed over, they came to land at Gennesaret and anchored there. And when they got out of the boat, immediately the people recognized him, and ran about that whole region, and began to carry those who were sick around on pallets to wherever they heard he was. Wherever he entered, into villages, cities, or the country, they laid the sick in the marketplaces, and begged him that they might touch even the fringe of his garment. And as many as touched him were made well.

Perceiving then that they were about to come and take him by force to make him king, Jesus withdrew again to the mountain by himself. When evening came, his disciples went down to the sea, got into a boat, and started across the sea to Capernaum. It was now dark, and Jesus had not yet come to them. read more.
The sea rose because a strong wind was blowing. So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they saw Jesus walking on the sea and drawing near the boat; and they were afraid. But he said to them, "It is I; do not be afraid." Then they were glad to take him into the boat, and immediately the boat was at the land where they were going.
