Therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him that one of his descendants would sit on his throne,

After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could number, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They shouted with a loud voice, saying, "Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb." All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before the throne, and worshiped God, read more.
saying, "Amen. Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever. Amen." One of the elders answered, saying to me, "These who are arrayed in white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?" So I said to him, "My lord, you know." He said to me, "These are the ones who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb's blood. Therefore they are before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. He who sits on the throne will spread his tabernacle over them. They will hunger no more, neither thirst any more; neither will the sun beat on them, nor any heat; for the Lamb who is in the midst of the throne shepherds them, and leads them to springs of waters of life. And God will wipe away every tear from their eyes."

Immediately I was in the Spirit. Behold, there was a throne set in heaven, and one sitting on the throne. And the one who sat there looked like a jasper stone and a sardius. Before the throne was something like a sea of glass, similar to crystal. In the midst of the throne, and around the throne were four living creatures full of eyes before and behind. The first living creature was like a lion, and the second living creature like a calf, and the third living creature had a face like a man, and the fourth living creature was like a flying eagle. The four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within. They have no rest day and night, saying, "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come." When the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne, to him who lives forever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives forever and ever, and throw their crowns before the throne, saying,
