And when they drew near Jerusalem, to Bethphage and Bethany, at the Mount of Olives, he sent two of his disciples, and said to them, "Go into the village opposite you, and immediately as you enter it you will find a colt tied, on which no one has ever sat. Untie it and bring it. If anyone says to you, 'Why are you doing this?' say, 'The Lord has need of it and will send it back here immediately.'" read more.
They went away and found a colt tied at the door outside in the open street, and they untied it. And some of those who stood there said to them, "What are you doing, untying the colt?" They answered as Jesus had told them to, and they let them go. Then they brought the colt to Jesus and threw their garments on it, and he sat on it. And many spread their garments on the road, and others spread leafy branches which they had cut from the fields. And those who went before and those who followed cried out, "Hosanna! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Blessed is the kingdom of our father David that is coming! Hosanna in the highest!" Jesus entered Jerusalem, and went into the temple. And when he had looked round at everything, as it was already late, he went out to Bethany with the twelve.

This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying: "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.'" The disciples went and did as Jesus had instructed them. They brought the donkey and the colt, placed their cloaks on them, and Jesus sat on them. And a very large crowd spread their cloaks on the road, while others cut branches from the trees and spread them on the road. The crowds that went before him and those that followed shouted, "Hosanna to the Son of David! Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord! Hosanna in the highest!" And when he entered Jerusalem, all the city was stirred, saying, "Who is this?" So the crowds said, "This is Jesus, the prophet from Nazareth of Galilee."
This took place to fulfill what was spoken by the prophet, saying: "Tell the daughter of Zion, 'Behold, your King is coming to you, lowly, and sitting on a donkey, a colt, the foal of a donkey.'" So those who were sent went away and found it just as he had told them. And as they were untying the colt, its owners said to them, "Why are you untying the colt?" And they said, "The Lord has need of it." And they brought it to Jesus, and they threw their garments on the colt and set Jesus on it. And as he went along, many spread their garments on the road. And, as he was now drawing near the descent of the Mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works they had seen, saying, "Blessed is the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven and glory in the highest!" And some of the Pharisees in the crowd said to him, "Teacher, rebuke your disciples." He answered, "I tell you, if these keep silent, the stones would cry out." And when he drew near and saw the city he wept over it, saying, "If you had known, even you, this day, the things that make for peace! But now they are hidden from your eyes. For the days will come upon you when your enemies will build an embankment around you, and surround you and hem you in on every side, and dash you to the ground, you and your children within you, and they will not leave one stone upon another in you; because you did not know the time of your visitation."

The next day a great crowd that had come to the feast heard that Jesus was coming to Jerusalem. They took branches of palm trees and went out to meet him, crying, "Hosanna! His disciples did not understand this at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him. The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead bore witness. For this reason the people went to meet him, because they heard that he had done this sign. The Pharisees then said to one another, "You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, The world has gone after him!"

His disciples did not understand this at first; but when Jesus was glorified, then they remembered that these things had been written about him and that they had done these things to him. The crowd that had been with him when he called Lazarus out of the tomb and raised him from the dead bore witness. For this reason the people went to meet him, because they heard that he had done this sign. The Pharisees then said to one another, "You see that you are accomplishing nothing. Look, The world has gone after him!"

As an example, brethren, of suffering and patience, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord.
So was fulfilled what was spoken by the prophet: "I will open my mouth in parables, I will utter things hidden since the foundation of the world."
whom heaven must receive until the time for establishing all that God spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from long ago.
as he spoke by the mouth of his holy prophets from of old,
that you should remember the words spoken beforehand by the holy prophets and the commandment of the Lord and Savior spoken through your apostles.
