And when it was evening, the disciples came up to him and said, "This is a lonely place and the day is over. Send the crowds off to the villages to buy themselves food." But Jesus said to them, "They do not need to go away. Give them food yourselves." They said to him, "We have nothing here but five loaves and two fish." read more.
He said, "Bring them here to me." Then he ordered the crowds to sit down on the grass, and he took the five loaves and the two fish and looked up to heaven and blessed them, and he broke the loaves in pieces and gave them to the disciples and they gave them to the people. And they all ate and had enough. And the pieces left over that they gathered up filled twelve baskets. There were about five thousand men who were fed, besides women and children.

When the day began to decline, the Twelve came up and said to him, "Send the crowd away to the villages and farms around to find food and shelter, for we are in a lonely place here." But he said to them, "Give them food yourselves!" And they said, "We have only five loaves and two fish, unless we go ourselves and buy food for all these people." For there were about five thousand men. But he said to his disciples, "Have them sit down in groups of about fifty each." read more.
And they did so, and made them all sit down. Then he took the five loaves and the two fish and looked up to heaven and blessed them, and he broke them in pieces and gave them to the disciples to pass to the people. And they all ate and had enough, and the pieces left over that were gathered up filled twelve baskets.
