Hanun, and the people of Zanoah, repaired the Valley Gate. They built it, and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars, and a thousand cubits on the wall to the Dung Gate. But the Dung Gate was repaired by Malchiah the son of Rechab, the ruler of part of Beth-haccerem. He built it and set up its doors, its locks, and its bars. And the Fountain Gate was repaired by Shallum the son of Colhozeh, the ruler of part of Mizpah. And there was no animal with me, except the animal that I rode upon. And I looked and rose up, and said to the nobles and to the rulers and to the rest of the people, Do not be afraid of them. Remember Jehovah, who is great and terrible, and fight for your brothers, your sons, and your daughters, your wives, and your houses. And it happened when our enemies heard that it was known to us, and that God had brought their counsel to nothing, all of us returned to the wall, each one to his work. read more.

And the rulers were behind all the house of Judah, the ones who built on the wall, and the ones who carried burdens; with those who were lifting, one a worker in the work, and one held a weapon. For of the builders, each one had his sword tied by his side, and built. And he who sounded the trumpet was beside me.

And he shall besiege you in all your gates until your high and fortified walls in which you trusted come down, throughout all the land.
