Is the soil rich or poor? Does the land have trees or not? Do your best to bring back some fruit from the land. It was the season when grapes were beginning to ripen. So they spied on the land from the wilderness of Zin as far as Rehob, at Lebo-hamath. When they went to the Negev, they came to Hebron where Ahiman, Sheshai and Talmai, the descendants of Anak were. The Hittites, Jebusites, and Amorites live in the mountain region. The Canaanites live along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea and all along the Jordan River.

They went up to the mountain to the valley of Eshcol, and explored it.

The houses will be full of good things that you did not put in them. There will be wells that you did not dig. There will be vineyards and olive orchards that you did not plant. Jehovah will bring you into this land and you will have all you want to eat.
I gave you a land that you had never worked and cities that you had not built. Now live there and eat grapes from vines that you did not plant, and olives from trees that you did not plant.
