And much time having been used up, and the voyage already being dangerous, because the Fast was now already past, Paul warned them, saying, Men, I perceive that this voyage is about to be with much harm and loss, and not only much cargo and of the ship, but also of our souls. And the port not being fit to winter in, the most of them advised to set sail from there, if by any means they might be able to get to Phoenix to winter; which is a port of Crete, looking toward the southwest and northwest. And a south wind blowing softly, thinking to have obtained their purpose, lifting anchor, they sailed along close beside Crete.
