If our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who perish. The god of this age (world) (religious, social, political, and economic arrangement) has blinded the minds of unbelievers that the light of the good news of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should not shine on them.

How is it we speak wisdom among those who are mature, yet not the wisdom of this age, or of the rulers of this age, who come to nothing (are doomed to destruction)? We speak the wisdom of God in a secret, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the ages (generations and human entities) for our glory.
