Every one hearing the word of the kingdom, and not understanding it, the wicked one comes, and seizes away that which is sown in his heart: he is the one sown by the wayside. But the one sown upon the rocks, is he who heareth the word, and immediately with joy receives it; but it has no root in him, but is temporary; and tribulation or persecution arising on account of the word, immediately he is offended. read more.
But the one sown among the thorns, is he who heareth the word; and the care of this age, and the deceitfulness of riches, choke out the word, and he becomes unfruitful.




For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world even until now nor ever may be. And if those days were not shortened, no life would be saved: but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened. for false Christs and false prophets will rise up, and give great signs and wonders; so as to deceive even the elect, if possible. Behold, I have foretold you.

And those on the stones are they who, when they may hear, receive the word with joy; and they have no root in them, who believe for a time, and in time of temptation they fall away. And that which falleth among thorns, there are those who hear, and going forward, by the cares and riches and pleasures are choked out, and bring forth no fruit to perfection.

We ought always to give thanks to God for you, brethren, as it is worthy, because your faith increases, and the divine love of each one of you all towards one another abounds more and more; so that we ourselves rejoice over you in the churches of God, on account of your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations which you endure; the manifestation of the righteous judgment of God, that you may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which you indeed suffer:
