Psalm 81:1

([Psalm of Asaph]) Sing for joy to God our strength. Shout joyfully to the God of Jacob.

Psalm 81:2

Sing a song and strike the tambourine. Play the sweet sounding lyre with the harp.

Psalm 81:3

Blow the trumpet at the new moon, at the full moon, and on our feast day.

Psalm 81:4

For this is required by the law of Israel. It is an ordinance of the God of Jacob.

My people did not listen to my voice. Israel did not obey me.

Therefore I gave them over to their stubborn hearts. They walked in their own counsel.

Oh that my people would listen to me, that Israel would walk in my ways!
