Thematic Bible: Qualified by God

Woe to me! I cried. I am ruined! For I am a man of unclean lips (a sinner) and I live among a people of unclean (filthy) lips (speech) (language). My eyes have seen the King, Jehovah of Hosts. Then one of the seraphs flew to me with a live coal in his hand. With tongs he seized it from the altar. He touched my mouth with it and said: See! This has touched your lips, your guilt is taken away and your sin forgiven (pardoned) (atoned for).

We are not adequate by ourselves to account for anything. Our adequacy is from God. He also made us sufficient as ministers of a new covenant. This is a covenant not of the letter, but of the Spirit: for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
