And Reuben heard it, and rescued him out of their hand, and said Let us not smite him, so as to take his life! And Reuben said unto them Do not shed blood! Cast him into this pit, which is in the wilderness, but put not forth, a hand, against him! that he might rescue him out of their hand, to restore him unto his father.
