I am the living bread, which came down from heaven: if any one eat of this bread, he shall live for ever. And the bread, that I will give, is my flesh, which I will give up for the life of the world. The Jews therefore cavilled amongst themselves, saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? Then said Jesus unto them, I tell you truly, that unless ye eat the flesh of the Son of man and drink his blood, ye have no life in you. read more.
He that eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is truly food, and my blood is truly drink: he that feedeth on my flesh and drinketh my blood, abideth in me and I in him. As the living Father hath sent me, and I live by the Father; so he that feedeth on me he also shall live by me. This is the bread that came down from heaven: not as your fathers did eat, and yet are dead. He that eateth this bread shall live for ever. These things He said in the synagogue, when He was teaching in Capernaum. Many therefore of his disciples, when they heard Him, said, This discourse is hard to be understood, who can take it in? But Jesus knowing in Himself, that his disciples were murmuring about it, said unto them, Does this offend you? What then, if ye should see the Son of man ascending up, where He was before? The spirit is the principle of life, the flesh availeth nothing: now the words that I speak unto you are spirit, and therefore life.
